About Kids First Pediatrics

Kids First Pediatrics serves children and teenagers through the age of 21 at three locations in the Savannah, Georgia, area. Dr Karen Kim has acted as President of Kids First Pediatrics since the office opened in 2001. As President, Dr. Kim leads the team of six board-certified pediatricians on the company’s staff. At Kids First Pediatrics, each of the three offices in Southside Savannah, Rincon, and Pooler includes a laboratory certified by the state of Georgia on the premises.  All nursing staff are required to be licensed or certified in the state of Georgia.

Dr. Karen Kim and the other physicians of Kids First Pediatrics--Dr. Francisco Herran, Dr. Kara Kennedy, Dr. Rolando Manalo, Dr. Yolanda Rivera-Caudill, and Dr. Katarina Stopko--serve as Fellows of the American Academy of Pediatrics. All of the physicians at the firm accept new patients. Though parents and their children may request any pediatrician at any time, Kids First Pediatrics recommends that they choose one particular pediatrician for all well-child visits so that the physician can become familiar with the patient and his or her particular health issues. Dr. Kim and the other physicians at Kids First Pediatrics enjoy professional privileges at Saint Joseph’s/Candler and Memorial University Medical Center. They teach pediatric residents at Memorial University Medical Center and care for newborn babies at both institutions. In addition, if a patient should require hospitalization, any of the physicians or staff members at Kids First Pediatrics can immediately admit the child to either hospital.

Prior to founding Kids First Pediatrics, Dr. Karen Kim obtained her undergraduate degree from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where she studied chemistry and biology and graduated summa cum laude with highest honors in biology. Dr. Kim later received her M.D. from the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Dr. Karen Kim then completed her residency in pediatrics at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville.
